Cambridge Success

Cambridge First Certificate and Cambridge Advanced Certificate exam preparation classes have been gaining a lot of recognition here in Calgary.

Many students see this course as a great way to improve their general English skills as the focus is on writing, speaking, listening, grammar and reading. Upon successful completion of the exam, students are awarded a certificate verifying their English proficiency. This certificate is granted by the University of Cambridge.

In the past 10 years GV Calgary has been offering this course, we are pleased to say that our results have been 20% higher than the western Canadian average. Our teachers Jacqueline and Crystal can take a lot of credit for this as they have a lot of experience teaching both FCE and CAE. In addition, the students who enter this class are very motivated and eager to improve their skills and typically do very well.

In the past this course has typically attracted students mainly from Europe, but this is changing. Recently we have seen a lot of cultural diversity in these classes. One of our students, Alberto Correa Nunez of Mexico, originally studied in the FCE class and found he improved so much that he also registered in the CAE class. He’ll be taking his exam in the next week and we expect that he’ll do quite well.
