English + Yoga afternoon class: Unique & Popular

One of GV Vancouver's newest courses, English through Yoga combines language acquisition with physical movement and breathing.

Students can experience an alternative approach to learning English while participating in an interesting activity, in this case - Yoga.

Students not only feel wonderful and less stressed at the end of the day, but they are also equipped with a load of new vocabulary, prepositional phrases and functional language they can take with them outside of the yoga studio.

Georgette Pesaruk, the English through Yoga instructor, says that it's going really well. "The students are building their vocabulary and their ability to do yoga. It's really nice because they see themselves progressing." Student Amandine Eugster from Switzerland says that she is really enjoying it and wants to start going to a yoga class when she returns home.

Both formally trained as a Yoga instructor and as an English teacher, Georgette believes that because students are doing an activity that builds flexibility of the mind, it leaves them calm and open to learning new things.
