Australian Culture Weekend

Last weekend 42 students and 2 teachers travelled 3 hours south of Sydney and spent 2 days learning all about Aboriginal life and Australian 1800's history.

The weekend included beautiful beaches, an aboriginal food tour and gold panning lessons. Some students even found a little gold! We ended the day with a huge BBQ and dreamtime stories by the campfire. The next day we toured the gold mining village with our very entertaining guide before heading home. On the way back to Sydney we sampled some Australian wine and many students tasted their first Aussie meat pie!

Next month we will head north for a weekend of whale watching and wine tasting.

Student of the Month - EUN HYE LEE (GRACE) - Korea

General English graduate Eun Hye Lee was recently awarded UEC "Student of the month".

"I have been at UEC for 9 months and have studied both General English and Cambridge courses. I started in Upper Elementary and now I am in Upper Intermediate! I have enjoyed studying at UEC because the teachers are nice and my teacher Jim is lovely. Yes, I have only missed 2 hours of classes in 9 months!

I have been able to improve my English by always trying to enjoy studying, by staying in homestay for the whole 9 months and by watching TV. When I finish my studies I will return to Korea."
