| As well, students have been out horseback riding, hiking and enjoying events from Banff to the
Dinosaur Museum in Drumheller. Next month the good times continue when we have
an overnight trip that the school has organized to the spectacular Waterton
National Park, on the Canadian side, just near the US border.
Graduation: Students from over 25 countries
have come together in the multicultural, friendly learning
atmosphere of GV. Regis Perrodin, who was awarded the Student
of the Month noted that, coming from Switzerland, he learned
more about international culture from students from all around.
Graduating after six months at GV Calgary, Regis made a speech
in which he thanked all his "great teachers" and
his classmates for sharing their sense of humour with him.
Career English Diploma: At our July Graduation
Event, we also had our first students graduating from the Career
English Diploma, a 12 week program which focuses on English
skills like conversational fluency while students also have
the opportunity to practice many business skills, including
presentation strategies using Power Point. Students can also
take Business English for 4 or 8 weeks.
Our goal is to continue
to challenge students in their learning, whether they are
in General English or Specialized programs like TOEFL or IELTS
Prep. Judging from the happy faces and all the English conversation
at Graduation, students are meeting that challenge while having
a great time in Canada's fastest growing city.
