Meeting the team at GV Brisbane

This month GV Brisbane would like to introduce two members of our teaching family, Vivienne and Zoe. Zoe, is one of our IELTS teachers, and has been teaching at GV Brisbane for the past 6 months, having previously taught at our sister school, GV Noosa, and before that, in the UK. Zoe enjoys teaching at GV Brisbane because "the students and teachers have a great time together. I also enjoy meeting people from all over the world and sharing our experiences and insights."

Vivienne has been with us for 11 months having previously traveled the world and taught not only in Australia, but also in China for 3 years. Vivienne is currently teaching one of our Upper Intermediate classes and says "I love teaching English and enjoy everyday in the classroom. And I don't have to leave home to experience the world anymore, because now, the world comes to me."

English For Academic Purposes – only 2 more courses for 2006

The next intake for our popular EAP Course will be on 16th October, and the final course for the year will start on the 11th December. The EAP Course is preparing our students for further study at a Vocational level in Australia.

The Course focuses on the skills students will need to ensure success at Vocational study including essay writing, note taking, report writing and oral presentations.

Throughout the 8-week program, we also visit a number of Vocational Colleges and sit in on lectures and tutorials, to further prepare our students for what to expect with Academic study.

Afternoon Options – New Option Available

GV Brisbane has introduced a new afternoon study option for our students in Elementary and Pre-Intermediate Levels. From 1:00pm each day, students will be able to join a class focused purely on Pronunciation. Pronunciation is a skill that improves with practice, and our afternoon option includes many practical and interactive activities including drills and tongue twisters.
