Hana Student Suites Residence
Global Village Hawaii has now successfully started placing students at the Hana Students Suites. The Hana Student Suites is located in the heart of Waikiki (directly behind the Hyatt Hotel). The dorm is one block from the beach. They are also just steps away to a variety of restaurants, grocery stores, sundry shops, banks, night-life and other services.
Hana Student Suites offer a variety of floor plans: private rooms, double rooms and triple room accommodations (all male or all female). Resident Assistants provide social activities for you and your roommates to meet other residents in the community.
You may view their website to learn more about the property at: www.campushousing.com.
GV Hawaii and the Hana Student Suites have teamed together to design a special lease contract exclusively for our Cambridge program (Fall '06, Winter '07, and Spring '07). For all other students, the Hana Student Suites may be able to create a custom made lease for the student so please send all inquiries to GV Hawaii or you can inquire further with the dorm. If the student sends the contract and payment to the Hana Student Suites directly no Global Village Hawaii administration fees are applied.

Important Immigration Reminder
Please remember that what a person says to the immigration officer when entering the country can be just as important as the documents a person shows. It is possible to enter the US with a tourist visa or under the visa waiver program if the main purpose of the visit is travel and tourism.
Part time study, defined as study of less than 18 hours per week, is then possible for those who enter the US in this way. The important thing to remember is that one must be coming to the US and Hawaii as a tourist. In other words, the main reason for travel is to come as a tourist and that the person would still come to Hawaii even if they weren't going to study. The study is seen as being "incidental" to the purpose of their trip. Therefore, they should inform immigration upon arrival that they are coming as a tourist. They can also mention that they are going to study English part-time at our school, but should indicate that this is not the main purpose of their travel. |
