Valentina Marchioni – TAP Activities Co-Ordinator
Valentina Marchioni, our Teen Activity Program Co-ordinator, tells us about the last program:
"As a TAP Activity Co-ordinator, my role was to ensure the smooth running of the activities component for the 6-week program. We had a great mix of nationalities participating, with students coming from Italy, Russia, French Polynesia, Saudi Arabia, Japan, Hong Kong and China. It was evident throughout the program that TAP is a stimulating way of encouraging students to improve both their English and confidence levels at the same time. Many of the students within the group had become great friends, so it was difficult for them to say goodbye to each other at the end. Some students had only enrolled for 2 weeks, but loved the program so much that they ended up staying for 3, 4, 5 and even the full 6 weeks!"

Canberra Weekend
Last weekend our Oz Explorers headed 3 hours south of Sydney to Canberra, the national capital, for the annual flower festival "Floriade". Twenty-nine students and four teachers spent 2 days learning more about Australia and it's culture.
On Saturday we had a picnic lunch by Lake Burley Griffin and then visited Parliament house, Floriade and the Australian War memorial museum before watching the sunset over Canberra with a glass of champagne at Mount Ainslie. Sunday's highlights were the tours of the National Museum and The Australian Institute of sport, where we all had a chance to test our sporting skills. Everyone had a great time and we are all looking forward to next months Surfing weekend!
