BRISBANE, AUSTRALIA

A Day at the Warwick Rodeo

Last Saturday, GV Brisbane students had a day at the popular Warwick Rodeo. Warwick is a small town located 2 hours from Brisbane. Warwick is famous for its welcoming atmosphere, friendly people, heat, flies and of course… the annual Rodeo.

Each year the town is a hype of activity when the Rodeo comes to town. Men and women from all over Australia come to compete in the week long event, which includes steer wrestling, bull riding and bareback horse riding.

For our students, it was their first experience of a rodeo and a good chance to mix with Australians and enjoy a popular Australian tradition.

Where Are They Now? Meet Luis Gonzales

It is always nice to catch up with former students and see what they get up to once they leave GV Brisbane. This month we hear from Luis Gonzalez who studied with us for 6 months. Luis is presently enjoying a well earned holiday, but this is what he had to say about his time at GV Brisbane.

"Hi, my name is Luis and I studied English at Global Village – Brisbane for 6 months. It was a very nice experience and I really enjoyed the time I spent there. The teachers are highly qualified and they are always trying to make sure that the students understand each one of the topics they teach in class. The staff is always there to help you in everything you need, from accommodation and job applications to all the matters related with the visa. Also they will provide you with information about traveling around Australia, including cheap tours, discounts and activities for the weekends. In addition by studying at Global Village Brisbane, I had the great opportunity of meeting people from other cultures and learning from them many different things."
