As well as running General English classes at all levels, GV Calgary has also helped many students over the years to prepare for TOEFL, TOEIC and Cambridge exams. In addition, the Business English program has expanded into a Career English 12 week Diploma with an online function (featured in last month's newsletter). |
Recently, GV Calgary added the IELTS/Academic Preparation Course as a full-time program which also starts each monthly study block. As the school is also the official IELTS Test Centre for the Canadian Prairies, the IELTS course allows students another option to become fully prepared for university studies because they can take the test right at the school. All Canadian universities now accept IELTS scores for entrance purposes. |

In addition, the GV TESOL Diploma is expanding rapidly. In 2007, GV Calgary will offer the 8 week course over four sessions. Students can learn skills for teaching children and adults, and also it is an excellent way to improve presentation skills and speaking English in front of others. Please note the words of Ozer Ozturk, who is pictured, and who successfully completed the GV TESOL Diploma. Ozer, who is from Turkey, was named "Student of the Month" at our September graduation and has been a frequent participant and entertainer in our Music Club.
"This is the second time that I have been to Calgary in order to improve my English at GV. In hindsight, it was a wise decision to come back here because the teachers are extremely perfect and they make you enjoy learning English. Moreover, they make you challenge yourself, which means that improvement is your only chance. I have challenged myself and I enjoyed every single moment at school."
