Surfs Up! – Student Activity
Always wanted to surf, but didn't know how. Students recently left the classrooms of GV Brisbane to attend a school of a different kind, when they headed to the famous Surfers Paradise, on the Gold Coast for an Introductory Surfing Lesson.
Firstly our students were given stylish white sun shirts and then a very large surfboard. The expert instructors taught them how to lie on the board, paddle, sit up and eventually assume a standing position.

After the surfing lesson |

After practicing on the sand, it was time to hit the water.
For the next hour they practiced the skills they had been taught, and did particularly well with all eventually being able to stand, even just for a few seconds and "catch a wave".
Exhaustedly they made their way back on to the beach, proud of their efforts and all keen to try surfing again. Well done guys! Our surfing superstars! |

Meet the team – "Introducing Teacher Nick"
This month we would like to introduce you to one of our teachers, Nick, another important member of the GV Brisbane family.
"Hi I'm Nick. I teach the elementary general English class, as well as TOEIC and the afternoon option Business English. I've been at GV for one and a half years. The best thing about the school is the friendly atmosphere. I've also taught in Japan for two years, which was great too. I hope to see you in Brisbane soon." |
