IELTS, International English Language Testing System, is an internationally recognized language test which assesses English language ability in listening, reading, writing and speaking.
GV Calgary is also an official IELTS Test Centre, so students who take the course can also take the test right here in the school. Because of high demand, we ask that students register for the test 12 weeks ahead. Usually they can do this when they send in their application for the IELTS Preparation course.

The IELTS Preparation course allows students to improve their English skills in an academic context. It examines in-depth each of the four modules of the IELTS test as well as vocabulary and grammar practice. The course, which is offered every month, focuses on the main components of Academic English as used in university-style courses.
GV Calgary also has a well established TOEFL preparation program which also runs every month. The course is designed for students planning to take the TOEFL test as well as those interested in an academic type of course to better prepare for university studies. This program includes academic readings, essay-writing and seminar-style discussions. In addition, we help students prepare to do research and listen to lectures. |
