Getting Comfortable in Calgary
When people travel from a long way away, it is important that they feel comfortable in the first week in a new place. Here, at GV Calgary, we take pride in getting to know students individually from the moment they walk in the school.
Michiko, our Receptionist and Japanese Student Counsellor, is usually the first friendly face new students will see and we have added more staff to serve students during the upcoming busy season. Jennifer Perez has joined Monica in the Accommodations Department.
A fun activity for new students is to take a walking tour of Downtown Calgary, guided by Derek, our Events Coordinator. We include the picturesque indoor Devonian Gardens in the tour.
Finally, no introduction to Calgary would be complete without a trip to the Canadian Rocky Mountains. Taking the Banff gondola for a view of the city and the mountain range is a very popular activity for students.
