Learning About Aboriginal Culture

We recently had an interesting and informative excursion to Muru Mittigar Aboriginal Cultural Centre to learn about Australian Aboriginal culture. Our guide spent the day showing us around the centre and teaching us lots of new skills like how to play the Didgeridoo and throw a boomerang.

We visited the art gallery for a short talk about aboriginal painting before painting our own boomerangs, which we got to take home! For lunch we ate Kangaroo and Emu and both were really tasty. After lunch we went on a bush tucker walk to learn to find our own bush foods. It was a great day out and we all learnt a lot about Aboriginal culture.

A Comment From One of Our Cambridge Students

"I studied the Cambridge Advanced English Course at Global Village Sydney (UEC) for 10 weeks. The teachers at the College were great and they were very approachable. If I ever had questions, there was always someone happy to help. The small class sizes were very important because they allowed students personalised attention from the teachers.

The social activities at the college were really fun, especially the Surf trip. It was good to socialise with other students as well as learn English and I made friends with people from all over the world."
