Big Screen Movie Event
The Global Village Events Coordinators have the perfect solution for students on a strict budget: the "Big Screen Movie" event! The new idea by Events Coordinator Karman O'Brien has proved to be a smash hit among students.
“Big Screen Movie” allows students to choose which DVD movie they'd like to see by voting on the GV Vancouver Activities webpage.
Students gather in the main lounge at the Yaletown campus to see the flick of choice on an LCD projector, while the school provides free snacks. It's totally free, and a great way to see a movie in a friendly, comfortable atmosphere. The first time the event was offered, over thirty students turned out to watch Employee of the Month.
Karman says, "So far, it's been a very successful activity. We'll probably have to stop it for the summer, but it’s pretty much going to be a recurring event after that." |
