Yoshie, who has been at the school since April, notes:
"GV Calgary is a very friendly school! Everybody says "Hi!" to you and it's easy to make friends there. The classes have a variety of international students so that you can learn about other cultures as well as study English. Many Japanese students have struggles speaking English, including me. Now, believe it or not, my favorite class is speaking! Many classmates help me to speak more and I can't stop talking with them in English. You learn new grammar and structures, and then you can practice speaking with different partners, which is a very communicative way to improve communication skill and you will get to known each other quickly in the class.
Teachers at GV Calgary are very funny! They always try to teach with a new style so that students enjoy learning English. You can feel the warm and fun atmosphere in the class all the time. They are also very kind to students outside of class. GV Calgary has the school policy "English Only" in the school. You can study hard but it's very friendly.
Many students join school activities after school or weekends. There are a variety of events almost every day e.g. sport competitions and day trips so you won't get bored! I recommend GV Calgary as a great school to study English seriously and have fun!
Kenichi reports, "GV Calgary organizes a variety of school activities for their students. You can join school activities with other students so that you can improve English while having fun. For example, go to the Rocky Mountains; go for a drink at a Pub and horseback riding, etc. You will meet a variety of international students from all over the world - Mexico and Switzerland, Korea, etc., which gives you a great opportunity to study with them in a class. Classes at GV help your speaking and conversation skills, including basic grammar. All of the teachers at GV Calgary are very friendly, funny and kind even outside of the classroom. They make all the students feel very welcome in the school. There is a graduation ceremony in the end of each study block. GV Calgary organizes some performances for the ceremony like a music concert by teachers and students. The graduation ceremony is a very memorable moment for students who are graduating. Sometimes you can see how touched they are about leaving GV Calgary. I will try not to cry at the graduation ceremony! |
